Education
Academic & Personal Background
Mr. Edwards received his JD from the University Of Miami School Of Law in 1991. He was Treasurer of Phi Alpha Delta, a member of the Society of Bar & Gavel, and was honored by Who’s Who Among American Law School Students. Mr. Edwards attended Vanderbilt University, where he received his B.A. in Psychology. He was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity and was also a DJ on campus radio station WRVU.
Mr. Edwards is a father of three sons and has continued his interest in the arts community in Miami Dade County public schools. He was the Vice President of Fundraising for 6 years for the Choir booster at New World School of the Arts and spearheaded fundraising for the choir to take trips to sing at President’s Park in Washington, D.C. and at Carnegie Hall in New York City. He previously served on the School Board at The Gordon Schools at Beth David. He currently is a member of the Wine Wall Committee for the Gala supporting The Foundation for New Education Initiatives.

Mr. Edwards began his career in workers’ compensation defense as a law clerk at Marlow, Connell, et. al while still attending law school at the University of Miami. After graduating from law school, Mr. Edwards decided to continue in this field and worked at several large workers’ compensation defense firms, as well as working in house for CNA Insurance. In September of 1997, Mr. Edwards joined Jeanette Guerrero Edwards to form the law firm of Edwards & Edwards, P.A.
Mr. Edwards has specialized in defending self-insured employers and PEOs for most of his career. Mr. Edwards has been on the winning side of every appeal which reached a decision in front of the First District Court of Appeal.

Notable Work
Achievements
Mr. Edwards was the trial attorney for the Employer/Carrier in the seminal case of 391st Bomb Group v. Robbins, 654 So. 2d 1200 (Fla 1st DCA 1995) which established the legal test for intentional injuries in Florida. Mr. Edwards has also been successful in appeals involving a variety of issues including Statute of Limitations, Compensability, Res Judicata, Attorney’s Fees, and Medical and Indemnity Benefits. Mr. Edwards has been qualified as an attorney fee expert by a number of JCCs and has provided expert testimony in issues involving attorney fee entitlement, quantum of fees against Employer/Carriers, and Miles fees. He was awarded the Silver Key by the ABA/LSD for outstanding service while in law school.
